Run Gun Robots plays like a classic side-scrolling platform shooter where sitting still usually means getting blasted. You run through stages filled with hostile automata, jumping over spikes while firing constantly at anything metallic moving toward you. Each enemy destroyed drops coins that accumulate as you clear room after room. Between attempts, those earnings pay for upgrades to your firepower, health bar, and movement abilities. The pacing gets aggressive fast. Stages quickly clutter the screen with incoming projectiles, laser grids, and sudden drop-offs, demanding quick jump timing while you keep your gun blazing. It does not reinvent 2D platforming, but the loop of dying, buying a damage boost, and pushing ten feet further works well. Boss encounters force you to memorize patterns instead of just holding down the trigger. Fans of old-school arcade platformers who enjoy incremental progress between failed runs will feel right at home here. The challenge comes less from complex logic puzzles and more from keeping your movement clean when five hostile machines overlap on screen at once.
