Gelatino
ℹ️ About this game
Gelatino is a short arcade game about being a popsicle that really doesn't want to melt. The screen scrolls through sunny levels with spikes, gaps, and heat sources that slowly drain you. You get a swinging rope, and the trick is to keep your momentum going without touching the ground too often. Ice cubes show up along the path, and grabbing them restores your health, so you're constantly deciding whether to head for the exit or take a small detour for a refill. Heat rises in waves, sometimes from the ground, sometimes falling from above, which forces you to change your rhythm. It's more about reading the screen quickly than planning out a perfect line. The movement has a nice weight to it, and one mistimed release sends you into something hot. Most runs last a minute or two, and the difficulty climbs fast enough that you'll restart a lot. There's no deep story or upgrade system. Just you, a rope, and a timer made out of sunlight.
🎯 How to play
Your goal is to get the popsicle from the start of each level to the end before it melts. Use the movement controls to run and jump. Press the swing button near a hook point to latch on, and release to let go. Grab ice cubes along the way to refill your health. Avoid flames and heat sources.
💡 Tips
Release the swing button a beat earlier than feels right. You'll keep more speed and clear longer gaps. Ice cubes are tempting, but skip one if it sits close to a heat source. The extra health isn't worth losing your run. Watch the heat waves for two pulses, then swing through the gap. They move on a rhythm, and you can time your jump to the quiet part.
