Face Breaker is a block-breaker with a twist. The ball is a square with a face on it, so it bounces in slightly unpredictable ways when it hits the corner of a block. You move a paddle at the bottom of the screen to keep the thing alive and smash a wall of blocks above you. You start each level with the ball resting on your paddle, so you can pick your first angle. After that it's mostly reaction. Each level has a different arrangement, and some blocks take multiple hits to break. The speed ramps up as you clear more blocks, and occasionally the ball gets a sudden burst of speed that catches you off guard. There are 45 levels, and the pace keeps climbing. The game is about reading the ball's path and making small adjustments while a timer ticks down. It's the kind of game you can play for five minutes without getting frustrated. The face on the ball is silly, but it doesn't change the gameplay much. It suits people who like old-school arcade puzzle games and don't want to memorize complicated rules.
