Basketball Stars
ℹ️ About this game
Basketball, but less serious than the real thing. You can run one-on-one or two-on-two, and the whole pace is closer to streetball than an NBA broadcast. The camera sits behind the action, so you always know where your guy is. You move, pass, shoot, and try to steal the ball on defense. Shot timing matters, but so does picking your spots. Chucking up a bad shot usually means the other guy scores on the break. The player models are oversized and cartoonish, which keeps the mood light. Playing against a friend on the same keyboard is the best reason to open it. The AI is okay, but the real fun is watching a buddy whiff a dunk or get stripped three times in a row. There are several match options, so it doesn't run dry after a few games. The matches are short enough that another round always feels easy to start. A clean steal sets up a fast break and usually an easy bucket, which is about as good as this gets. It's not a simulation so much as basketball with a goofy streak.
🎯 How to play
Use the arrow keys to move your player. Press the pass button to send the ball to a teammate, and the shoot button to jump and shoot. Hold shoot near the basket to go for a dunk. On defense, press the steal button when you're close to the ball carrier. Get the ball in the hoop more than the other team before time runs out.
💡 Tips
Don't always go for a dunk. A quick layup or a short jump shot goes in more often and leaves you less open to a block. On defense, stay between your man and the basket instead of chasing the ball. That forces a bad shot, and then you can grab the rebound. If you're playing two-on-two, pass the ball back and forth for a few seconds before shooting. The defense shifts and you'll get a cleaner look.
